My name is Kirsten Maiwaldt and I am a student at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. I am currently working towards earning a B.F.A for Graphic Design and graduating in 2021. Art has been a passion of mine since I was very young. While most kids enjoyed playing sports, my mind gravitated towards the arts (I was also embarrassingly unathletic). Along with fine art I have always been a lover of music, theater, and dance. I always found myself doodling, singing, or making up dances in my room. All of my energy was put towards something creative. In high school I was inspired to experiment past plain pencil and paper and worked heavily with mixed media, while still staying true to my drawing background. When the dreaded question ''So what are your plans for college?'' rolled around I decided that I wanted to be in a field where I can continue to create art while still having a professional career. And presto! Graphic Design it was. Before college I had very little knowledge of digital art or even the adobe suite. But after some hard work and a touch of magic I fell in love with design and the endless possibilities that came with it. I am currently continue to learn and grow as a graphic designer in school and have picked up some small freelance jobs in my spare time. Welcome to my website, I hope you like it.. I did it myself. :)
